Fiona is Parish Councillor for Yarnton and Kidlington, as well as District Councillor for Kidlington East (which includes Gosford and Water Eaton Parish).
Fiona studied Applied Biology at University in London and specialised in Clinical Biochemistry and Cell Biology. After moving to Oxfordshire she co-founded a retail business with a chain shops across the south of England beginning with an original store in central Oxford.
She joined the Green Party in 2012 after a chance meeting with the then Green Mayor of Oxford City. She then became a Yarnton Parish Councillor in 2015 and is now the deputy chair.
Fiona was elected to Cherwell District Council in 2022 is now part of the GAIA Group (Greens and Independent Alliance) which forms part of the controlling Green and Lib Dem coalition Administration currently running the council. She sits on the Planning and Personnel Committees.
In Yarnton, Fiona set up the village heritage apple tree orchard and was instrumental in the council adopting a climate emergency motion. She’s also been involved in projects for rewilding parts of the village and supports the local Flood Defence Group.
In Kidlington, Fiona sits on the Community Committee and advocated the introduction of more climate and wildlife friendly low noise fireworks, replacing the traditional annual display funded by the council. She also helps with various wildlife community projects throughout the area and advises on planning issues and major flooding concerns.
Fiona’s main focus is on helping local residents with problems and concerns as well as campaigning for more affordable housing and better active travel infrastructure.
